China Lens is a Chrome extension that shows the corresponding Hong Kong / mainland China stock data for Chinese ADRs you are viewing on TradingView or Yahoo Finance. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with data.
When you view a stock on TradingView or Yahoo Finance, China Lens reads the ticker symbol of the stock on the current page (from the page URL, or as a fallback from a stable element on the page). This is the only information it reads from the page, and only on those two sites.
To look up public market data, the ticker symbol is sent to the following third-party data providers:
qt.gtimg.cn (Tencent) — Hong Kong stock quotespush2.eastmoney.com (Eastmoney) — A-share quotes and northbound/southbound fund-flow figuresapi.frankfurter.dev (Frankfurter / ECB) — USD→HKD exchange rateOnly the public ticker symbol and standard request metadata are sent. No account, identity, or personal information is attached to these requests.
China Lens stores a small amount of data locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.session: a cache of ticker mappings and the
most recent view model for open tabs. This data lives only in your browser,
is never transmitted to us, and is cleared when you close the browser.
We do not collect, store on any server, share, or sell any user data. The extension has no backend server of its own.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
